The 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2019 opened at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on November 5, 2019. As another new window since China's reform and opening up, the Expo is not only a platform for global trade, but also a platform for discussing and resolving global problems. After its debut last year, Hyundai Motor appeared again in Shanghai. In the Expo, Hyundai Motor participated in the exhibition with two topics of environmentally friendly mobility and future mobility and  depicted a new blueprint for future mobility.

In order to reflect the conformance to the theme of "New Era, Shared Future" and the Hyundai Motor's expansion of hydrogen fuel technology into commercial vehicles, the concept vehicle "NEPTUNE", a full-power hydrogen fuel cell truck, debuted at the Expo.

Announcing the future era of environmentally friendly commercial vehicles, the full-power hydrogen fuel cell truck "NEPTUNE" debuts

“NEPTUNE” is named after Planet Neptune where hydrogen accounts for 80% of total mass, and Neptunus in the Roman Mythology, which reflects the power, environmental protection, and clean properties of hydrogen. "NEPTUNE" design is inspired by Streamliner designed by the first generation industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss in 1930.

The streamline shape is very avant-garde, the front is a circular arc, the overall structure is simple and smooth, and the vehicle is specially designed for carrying hydrogen fuel cell power system.

The grille surrounding the underbody is not only unique in design, but also in line with aerodynamic principles.

At the same time, in order to maximize the sense of existence of Hyundai hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the design of high-tech sense is strengthened, and the interior space is created with the concept of living mobility. The hydrogen fuel powertrain and the cab design in the form of a circular greenhouse, make the interior space more spacious than that of a conventional commercial vehicle, and the ground flatter than that of traditional commercial vehicles. The indoor space named personal studio helps drivers who often run long distances to balance work and life effectively.
